The school organizes outdoor activities on a weekly basis to train the students in various skills. The students get exposure and first-hand experience of adventure sports and look forward to taking up these sports/activities in their future as careers or for relaxation.Some of the invigorating activities held every week for students include archery, yoga, karate, shooting, adventure sports, skating and NCC.

Award Ceremony Annual Award Ceremony 2016 – 2017 | [25th March, 2017]
Delhi Public School, Azaad Nagar felicitated the meritorious students of the Academic Session 2016 – 2017, in the Award Ceremony, Shining Stars on the 24th and 25th March 2017 in the school hall to honour the Junior and Senior students respectively. The honourable Chief Guest on the occasion was Pro – Vice Chairperson of the school, Mrs Bandana Misra and the Guest of Honour was member Managing Committee, Mr Devavrata Misra. The Principal of the school, Mrs Rachna Mohotra welcomed the guests. The parent fraternity was present in large numbers to see their wards being honoured on a special day. Teachers and peers of the awardees cheered the prize winners.The programme was initiated with the welcome of guests by the student comperers and the presentation of bouquets. For an auspicious beginning, the sacred lamp was lit by the dignitaries. The students spoke about the importance of success and its direct relation to life. They went on to say that success does not belong to a selected few; success belongs to each one if we’re willing to pursue it. They asserted that one does not come across success just by hoping for it. To achieve true success, one needs the strength of mind and body to struggle and work hard to reach the fullest potential. The right attitude. self – discipline and the ability to put goals before needs are required to be driven towards reaching success. There is, after all, no substitute for consistency and perseverance.
The much-awaited award ceremony began thereafter. A number of awards were given away to the brilliant students of classes PG – XI. Their merit was appreciated in a unique way! The Delhi Public School pattern does not subscribe to the total and percentage system, adhering to the CBSE pattern of the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) wherein students are assessed on the basis of their overall personality. The whole gamut of awards had a number of students in waiting adorned with colourful badges and sashes.
The first award to be given was the APPLICATION AWARD. This prize is given to those students who achieve the highest marks in class. The award is aptly named after the diligent quality of application which is unique to the toppers. For this award red sashes adorned the students denoting confidence and vitality. The next award was the GENERAL PROFICIENCY AWARD which is given to students who are generally proficient or capable of doing very well in co-scholastic activities as well. These awardees wore Yellow representing intellectual energy.
After this, the CONSISTENCY AWARD was given to those students of Pre-Nursery to XI who had been performing uniformly or consistently well throughout the year. They were described as rare individuals who have never given up working hard and maintain their grades throughout. They were the rightful wearers of the light green sashes which signified the growth and the self-respect with which they hold their heads high.
The ALL ROUND GOOD PERFORMANCE AWARDS honoured all rounders with dark green sashes who spread out their sincerity and loyalty by doing well in academics as well as in extra curricular activities, shaping up a truly holistic personality, which the school aims at.
The GENERAL IMPROVEMENT prize was presented to students who realize their potential a little late but bring about tremendous improvement in their result by the end of the year. Thus, Delhi Public School, Azaad Nagar, encourages everyone, the slow learners; those with a late wakeup call; the true geniuses and the wonder kids with pink sashes for their positive attitudes.In today’s global environment, the importance of English cannot be denied and ignored since English is the most common language spoken everywhere. It has been playing a major role in all sectors including medicine, engineering, and education. Keeping this in mind the Principal, Mrs Rachana Mohotra presented awards with orange colour sashes for GOOD SPOKEN ENGLISH.
Member Managing Committee Mr Devavrata Misra congratulated the Parent community for the success of their wards and exhibited confidence that the students of classes Pre-Nursery to XII would carry on bringing more laurels in academics as well as Co-Curricular areas of Dance, Music, Dramatics and Sports keeping the school flag fluttering high as always.The MERIT BADGE was awarded to students who had secured 85% for 3 consecutive years while the SCHOLAR BADGE was awarded to those who’d managed to secure 90% and above for 3 consecutive years. The SCHOLAR OF THE YEAR AWARD was given to the students who had emulated the feat of the SCHOLAR BADGE AWARDEES for the current year.
Almost all children at Delhi Public School, Azaad Nagar love to attend the school because school is full of learning along with interesting activities. Thus inspired, there are some students who believe in creating a record of FULL ATTENDANCE and receive certificates with Purple sashes devoting passion at the end of the year. The Pro-Vice Chairperson of the School, Mrs Bandana Misra did the honours for them. The Principal rendered the vote of Thanks expressing her joy to see the happy faces of the successful students and said that the next Academic Session would bring about more perfection in the existing genius of the students!
Another rare award, known as the ‘SALUTE TO HUMAN SPIRIT’ was presented to some students, who, in spite of physical drawback are gifted with the ability to triumph over all odds with their ‘Never Say Die’ attitude depicted by their Blue sashes.
The ‘AYUSHMAN AWARD’ an award in memory of a dear student, of Delhi Public School, is presented to a student who shows exemplary progress in class. The award was given away by the parents of Ayushman and carried a cash prize.
The Principal, Mrs Mohotra, congratulated the meritorious awardees and wished them, even more, success in the forthcoming year because the school believes in discovering the latent talent of the students and then nurturing and polishing it.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

Value Empowerment Contest
DPS, Azaad Nagar, Kanpur believes in the wholesome development of the students and developing spiritual values is an integral part of this pursuit. Many a times during the year the ISKCON foundation conducts workshops, contests and Inter – School Competitions in which students of DPS, Azaad Nagar participate enthusiastically and win laurels. On February 8th, 2017 a Value Empowerment Contest was conducted by ISKCON for the students of Classes IX and X which was based on the holy ‘Gita’. The students eagerly read and discussed the pocket ‘Gita’ handed over by the spiritual organisation earlier and thus participated in the written quiz with great zeal.
Youth Festival Lauerals
The new academic session 2016-2017 began with a frenzy of activities in school at DPS, Azaad Nagar. However, enthusiastic debators and artists found time to initiate a winning spree amidst the flurry of activities as they participated in the ISKON Foundation Youth Festival held from the 7th to the 9th of April, 2016. Akshita Maheshwari and Tulika Pal of Class IX won the 3rd prize in the Interschool Debate from among a number of participating teams of the city wherein most of their opponents were Class XII students.
Shreyansh Jaichand won the second prize in the poster making competition.
The winners were honoured with their prizes by well known writer, Mr. Amish Tripathi.

Special Assembly by Class IX D |Topic: Discovering the Unknown Mahatma
The class had spoken on the importance of Gandhi Jayanti. A short life history of the great leader was presented. More stress was given on discovering or finding out certain facts about the Great Man that are not so commonly known. Certain facts that brought into light the greatness of the man besides his contribution to our freedom struggle.
Followed by a short quiz as a recap of the facts discussed in the assembly.
Table Tennis Triumph!
DPS azaad Nagar students are on a winning spree! Amongst a number of sporting victorious they also won the KSS Table Tennis Championship 2015. The girls team of DPS, Azaad Nagar were declared winners at the event.
Recently the students of Classes IX – XI participated in the ‘TechKriti’ Science and Maths Competition conducted by the organisersf’Antragini’ Event at IIT Kanpur. The test was held on 31st October, 2015 at IIT Kanpur. 40 students of DPS Azaad Nagar qualified for the 2nd level of the event. The feather in the cap for DPS, Azaad Nagar is the fact that maximum number of students qualified from the school as compared to all other participating schools of Kanpur!
On 16th November’15 an activity ‘Tambola’ was conducted for the students of classes I and II. It was a Grammer Housie’ based on all the grammer topics taught in the class. Students were filled with joy and gifts were distributed to the winners.
Children’s Day Celebration
On 9th November’15 Children’s Day was celebrated from class Pre Nursery to II with great pomp and show. An assembly was performed by the teachers in which students were told about the Children’s Day and importance of discipline through a skit ‘An ideal classroom’. Students were amazed by watching their teachers performance.
Different fun games were also arranged for the students which they really enjoyed and an art competition was also held in students have shown their creativity.
Let’s Navigate activity for classes I and II was conducted on September 18, 2015 in which they have leanrt about the important places, monuments, rivers, religions and languages of India through a video.
Time for Peace
A folder making activity was conducted on September 21, 2015 on the occasion of International Peace Day. Students have made a colourful folder. They have done leaf printing on it depicting the symbol of peace.
