Football Match – BPL Colony United Foundation

DPS, Azaad Nagar students have always proved their glory in sports. They once again opened their account in the new academic session 2016-17 by winning the First Runner Up position in the District Level Tournament  organized by BPL Colony United Foundation wherein the non-affiliated football tournament was held at Central Park, Kidwai Nagar from 15th of April to 17th of April,22016. Students till 15 years of age participated in this event.

Aryan Pratap Singh, student of Class VI A of DPS Azaad Nagar, participated in the 20th International and 14th national UCMAS ABACUS and Mental Arithmetic Competition 2015. He got 2nd Runner Up in International and 5th Runner Up Position in National Competition.

comp (3)The all round talents of the students and the diligent training received from the teachers have recently won great accolades for DPS, Azaad Nagar. The School Cultural Teams were declared winners of ‘Harmony 2015’ held at Virendra Swaroop Public School, Cantt and 2nd Runners Up at ‘Comfest 2015’ held at Jaipuria Public School, Cantt. In the sporting arena too, DPS, Azaad Nagar achieved a spectacular landmark by winning the First Kanpur School Olympics held from 1st – 8th November,2015 in Kanpur. This glorious victory followed the triumphs achieved by the school sporting fraternity at the Methodist School League, Multi Sports Meet held at Methodist High School, Cantt wherein the school teams excelled in Cricket, Basketball and Football.

The school team participated in ‘Harmony 2015’ Inter – School Cultural Fiesta at  V.S. P. S. Cantt from 29th – 31st October, 2015. They were declared Winners of the event from among all the well known institutions of the city which participated in the Fiesta. DPS, Azaad Nagar students especially triumphed in the Literary, Musical and Computer categories. The school team won the first prize in events like ‘Word Brawl’, ‘Let’s Plot’, ‘Melodrama’, ‘Solo Singing’, ‘Rock Band’, ‘Jugal Bandi’, ‘Thirkan’, ‘Animation’, ‘Maths Modelling ‘ and ‘Game of Thrones’. They notched up a lot of points through second and third prizes in a number of other events as well!

comp (1)At the first Kanpur School Olympics the Jubilations continued as the school athletes and sportsman made history by winning the competition. They achieved this landmark by coming the Senior Football contest and the First Runner Up position in Junior Football. DPS, Azaad Nagar were declared overall champions. In table Tennis the Senior Girls team was the winner while Senior Boys and Junior Boys and Girls were all declared First Runners Up. The tremendous haul of medals at the even dazzled as bright as Diwali lights!!

The school sport man also brought home the Winning Trophies for Junior Cricket, Football (Sr. group) and Basketball (Boys) (Sr. group) at the Methodist School League Multi Sports Meet. the Junior Girls too bagged 1st Runners Up Trophy to round up the bonanza of excellence!

DPS, Azaad Nagar believes in nurturing  the talent of the students by giving them exposure through many competitions and events. They take part in Intra -School, Inter- house and Inter- School Competitions to match their wits, to participate and excel in Competitions. Their talent and skills also receive a fillip at the hands of a well trained faculty. The School is always victorious in Inter School and Inter -DPS. Competitions.DPS, Azaad Nagar gives a very wide platform and encouragement to the competitors, developing their skills and striving to achieve the highest ranks.

Skit Competition | Organized on 21-Sept 2015

Students of classes I and II had a Skit Competition on 21/09/15. It was conducted among the sections. They were judged on different criteria like presentation, props, costume etc. The participants put  forth their efforts perfect to make the competition a grand success. In the end class 2A stood 1st where class 1A was the 1st Runner Up and 1B was the 2nd Runner Up.

DECRYPTONITEOrganized by DPS Greater Noida

Decryptonite is an online treasure hunt organized by DPS, Greater Noida on 2nd August 2015. In which from all over India DPS Society schools students have participated. Continuous 48 hours efforts of DPS Azaad Nagar students gave them top ranking among 50 toppers.

Shlok Pandey (X E), Tanmay Agarwal (XE), Animesh Gupta (XII A), Utkarsh Omer (XE), Ridam Rastogi (XI B), Ravindra Singh (X E) competed with prominent schools of DPS Society, Vijaywada, Greater Noida, Sonipat, Secudarabad, Meerut, NTPC, Vidyut Nagar, Dwarka, Ranchi, Tapi, International Saket, Agra, Bokaro Steel City, Kalyanpur Kanpur, Navi Mumbai, Ranipur Haridwar and finally were success ful to highlighted their names on the leader board.

Choral Recitation Competition

Mothers play a significant role in a person’s life. The love and affection which she bestows on her children cannot be repaid. As a tribute to mother, a Choral Recitation Competition was organized for the students of Class VI on August 5, 2015. In the poem the poet Brian Pattern elucidates the mischievous deeds of a naughty child in a humorous manner. Ms. Sony Bhargava, Ms. Usha Sinha and Ms. Devangana Das adjudged the competition. The children narrated the poem with zeal and emotional expressions. Class VI E stood first followed by Class VI F and class VI B.

A choral recitation competition was organized for the children of class VII on Wednesday, the 5th of August, 2015. All the sections of class VII took part in it enthusiastically along with their teachers. The competition was adjudged by Ms. Sony Bhargava, Ms. Manju Mishra, Ms. Ghosh and Ms. Usha Sinha. The poem to be adjudged was ‘ A Bird Came Down’ by Emily Dickinson class VII E and VII F were tied at the 1st position while classes VII C and VII B got the second and the third position respectively. The main aim of the competition was to instill a sense of team spirit, love for poetry and confidence to recite with proper expression.

KSS Inter School Classical Orchestra Competition was held on 01/08/15 at Puranchandra Vidya Niketan. Our School team bagged 1st Runner Up Trophy in the competition. Team Consists of Astha Malvia, Prafful Gupta, Shaswat Visvkarma, Rishika Malviya, Anshika Rathore, Pratyausha, Aditya Arnav, Gaurav Kelkar, Samir Srivastava, Vansh Bhargava, Abdul Ahad, Mihir Raj Verma, Apoorva, Manas Dubey, Yougansh Bhatia Arjav Jain and Arshveen Kaur.

DPS, Azaad Nagar recently participated in the Inter –DPS Dance competition held at DPS Chandigarh and bagged the 2nd Runner Up prize in a strongly contested competition. The School dance troupe comprised of Riya Sood, Ramya Tiwari, Reshu Hora, Triveni Bansal, Kriti Sankhlecha, Devyani Singh, Khushi Narang, Anugya Singh and Kamal Yadav. They presented a classical number on a mythological theme depicting Lord Krishna’s life. They received great applause for their amazing performance.

Our Grandmasters!

The School chess team won the 1st Runner Up Trophy at the KSS Inter-School Chess Tournament held on 8th of August ,2015 at Mantora Public School, Kalyanpur!

The winning girls team comprised of Sanchita Arora, Vigya Awasthi, Devyanshi Srivastava, Tulika Pal and Harshita Ojha.

The Board winners of the competition were Akshat Sharma, Sanchita Arora and Tulika Pal.

Costume Parade

A costume parade was organized for the students of Pre-Primary on 30th July, 2015. Children were dressed using the waste materials like straws, newspapers, CD’s, bangles, jute, plastic bags, bottles etc. They spoke lines to describe their costume. They all looked colourful in the dresses.

At the ‘Vox Populi’ International Level Debating Competition held at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School on 24th July, 2015, Manya Agarwal of Class X won the 1st Prize as the Best Speaker in the Extempore Competition delighting and amusing the audience with her candid and forthright approach!

At the same venue, in the additional segment, Sanyam Goel of Class X made a mark winning the 2nd Prize in the ‘Most Promising Photographer’ Competition!


KSS Art Competition

At the KSS Art Competition held at KK Public School on 25th of July, 2015, the artist of the school, Abul Basar of class XII won the 3rd prize for his creativity in a close Inter-School contest!
