Pre Primary Workshop | Venue – DPS Azaad nagar
To make children aware about the green colour, 4 days green colour workshop was conducted for the children of Pre – Primary.
DAY 1 (18/04/16)
On the first day of green colour workshop, students had done colouring sheets. Pre Nursery had done colouring on a Guava, Nursery had done colouring on a bunch of grapes and prep had done colouring on a frog.
DAY 2 (19/04/16)
On the second day, students had brought different green colour vegetables in their tiffin like Lady’s finger, bottle gourd, capsicum etc. along with green colour object. Teachers had discussed about the object’s & they also discussed the peculiarities of the different green colour vegetables.
DAY 3 (20/04/16)
On the third day, children had done craft activities on different cutouts like bottle gourd, pear and leaf.
DAY 4 (21/04/16)
On the fourth day, students came dressed up in green colour attires. They have also brought soaked grams for the sapling activity “Green meadows.”
Dengue Awareness Workshop by Odomos
Venue – DPS Azaad nagar
A dengue awareness workshop was held in the school by Odomos for classes II – VII. The children were shown a short film on how dangerous even a small mosquito bite can be. The children were made aware of the various Odomos products which are useful for protection against mosquitoes. Thet were distributed samples of mosquito patches. The teachers too were gifted samples of Odomos products. It was indeed an enlightening workshop.
NEXT EDUCATION WORKSHOP
Venue – Hotel Vijay Villa
A workshop was organized by the Next Education Foundation – an initiative started to promote smart class education in India. The workshop was conducted basically for English faculty and was attended enthusiastically by English teachers from various schools of the city. The main agenda was to instruct teachers on the process of teaching by facilitating participatory learning through reverse planning. Our school is always involved in advocating a modern and more evolved way of teaching. The workshop was attended by two of our English teachers – Ms. Ravita Mason and Ms. Devangana Das Saxena. The humble efforts of the company were appreciated as the approach to teaching advocated was both unique and effective.
“Pillars” a workshop organized by Teach Next was attended by Ms. Sony Bhargava and Ms. Pooja Bhatia. Basically the workshop was for the Pre-Primary teachers.
Venue – Vijay Inter-Continental
Various activities were conducted. The aim of the workshop was to make the teachers aware that education is the most important weapon that can change the world and to transform education to meet the expectations and aspirations of the 21st century. Around 65 teachers attended the workshop. Mr. Vincent (Principal Huddard High School) was the chief guest. Each teacher was given a certificate of participation.
In order to keep the faculty updated, a CCE workshop was held for the teachers of classes IX and X at DPS, Azaad Nagar on 7th of July, 2015. The resource person was Mr. Balwinder Singh who emphasized on the positive aspects of the CCE patters. In a lively interactive session with the guest, the teachers gathered new inputs about the pattern and resolved to reinvent their pedagogy.
Counseling Sessions in IX and X
At the Secondary School Level, there are many confusions & misconceptions in the minds of the students especially regarding academics and carrer! The school counselor, Ms. Amita Bajpai resolves all such problems of the children. In July 2015 her visits were dedicated to counseling sessions in the classrooms of classes IX and X where she discussed Time Management and helped the students to decide upon a future career and choice of stream for the +2 level in the career counseling sessions. She also provided handouts to the children for reference.
